German-British #Freundship Award 2026

For the third time, on 11 March 2026, the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG) and the British Embassy will present the German-British #Freundship Award driven by Mercedes-Benz.
To mark the presentation of the German-British #Freundship Award guests can look forward to an elegant gala dinner in Berlin. Among those attending will be the UK Ambassador, Andrew Mitchell, the President of the BCCG, Michael Schmidt, and members of the jury, including Theo Koll, Mareile Höppner, Bibiana Steinhaus-Webb, Wera Hobhouse MP, and John Kampfner. The evening will be hosted by TV presenter Mareile Höppner and will feature a special artistic performance by Salut Salon, an internationally acclaimed female chamber music quartet consisting of piano, violin and cello, and recipients of the ECHO Award.
The German-British #Freundship Award has honoured individuals, projects and organisations since 2021 that demonstrate outstanding commitment to German-British friendship and cooperation. At a time when international relations are becoming increasingly complex, the Award sends a strong and visible signal in support of dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding between Germany and the United Kingdom.
The Award recognises exceptional achievements in the fields of culture, science, business and civic engagement. It is dedicated to those whose work builds bridges between Germany and the UK, fosters sustainable partnerships and makes a significant contribution to strengthening bilateral relations.
The award winners are selected by an independent jury comprising experts and leading figures from politics, business, culture and civil society in both countries. This process ensures that the recognition of achievements is transparent, fair and of the highest relevance.
Since its inception, the Award has honoured numerous inspiring individuals and projects, highlighting the importance of German-British cooperation.
